The worktop was originally badly stained and the joints were uneven. The brief was to remove the sink and hob, level the joints and refit them, then sand back the entire worktop to remove the water and food stains.
These packing pieces were removed and the worktop was refitted correctly with strong jointing plates dowels and glue. The pressure of the worktop and packing pieces on the drawer runner below had dislodges the runner and made the drawer unusable. This was repaired prior to refitting of the worktop.
Once refitted a quarter inch round-over bit was then used to cut a bevel onto the front edge of the worktop. Providing a smooth clean edge all the way round the worktop.
Once the new bevel had been routed onto the front edge of the worktop three coats of danish oil was applied to seal the worktop and give a satin luster finish.
